1st Day
After the beautiful drive to Colca it is time to relax and find your feet. After being shown to your Casita and unpacking, we recommend a dip in the pool and a wonder round the resort to meet the Alpacas.
Before dinner with views of the Canyon and typical Andean cuisine created with fresh produce from our farm.
2nd Day
Not to be missed is a trip to the Cruz del Condor, leaving at 6:30am the bus arrives at Cruz del Condor to see the birds rising on the warm currents.
After an hour watching the condor hike to Priests Cross and a ride to the volcanic crater. 45 minute hike passing cactus forests and the magnificent sight of the lagoon. Brunch is then served.
Return by bus – to the resort and enjoy a relaxing walk around the herb gardens and discover the wonderful vegetables that are native to the area before taking part in feeding the Alpacas.
3rd Day
Spend the day exploring the area on bicycle, touring the valley and marvelling at the gigantic cactus and the prickly pears. Stopping in one of the beautiful vantage points to enjoy a specially prepared packed lunch.
4th Day
Spend the morning in our cookery school discovering the secrets of Peruvian cuisine, one of the most diverse cuisines in the world. Our chefs will talk you through using typical Peruvian ingredients like quinoa and help you to create an authentic Peruvian dish. All of the ingredients are sourced from our on property farm and are wonderfully fresh.
After tucking in to your freshly prepared cuisine for lunch relax around the resort and enjoy some of the activities on site like fishing in our trout ponds, feeding the Alpacas and enjoying the pool and our spa.
In the evening, we would like to treat you to something special, a clear view of the night sky. Colca Canyon is completely free of light pollution and the view of the stars is unrivalled. The combination of stars and the peace of the Colca Canyon is truly magical, and of course we will be on hand to provide hot chocolate and blankets should you need it.
5th Day
A meander through the Colca Canyon on the unique Peruvian Paso horse is not to be missed, this beautiful breed of horse that is chosen for its smooth ride and acclimatisation to the Andean climate.
At 09.00 guests depart Las Casitas del Colca on horseback and take the old road to Yanque. The route crosses the Cervantes Bridge on the way to Ichupampa, visiting Lagunilla. At Lagunilla the horses are left to rest while guests return to the Las Casitas del Colca in a vehicle.
6th Day
Take the path besides the Chapel which leads off the property. Following a path running alongside the river, in thirty minutes you will arrive at the rustic Chacapi Thermal Springs, a beautiful area. Where you can take a welcome dip in the natural springs can be taken before returning home, to a delicious meal and a star lit sky.
